                                              What is Rush?

Rush is the process that Fraternities go through to recruit new members. Informal Rush starts about a week before the summer break ends and continues through the first few weeks of the semester. About mid-September we start Formal Rush which is a week full of organized events. Formal Rush is set up for individuals to get a taste of every house to see which one they fit into best.

                                              Why go Greek?

Any member of a fraternity at the University of Colorado will attest that going Greek is undoubtedly the best way to experience college. Fraternity offers invaluable opportunities, life lessons and wisdom that cannot be attained through the typical four year university experience. Fraternity provides real world leadership opportunities for every brother to learn what it is like to lead a dynamic organization. Fraternity also provides a brotherhood for life and connections you will serve you well the rest of your life.

                                              Do you haze?

ZBT has a strict NO-HAZING policy! As a new member, you will be included in all brotherhood and social events without being required or encouraged to perform embarrassing or dangerous acts. Once you join ZBT you are initiated as a brother with full privileges and responsibilities. Upon initiation, all new members participate in The Journey program where they learn about brotherhood, valuable leadership skills, ZBT history and ritual. The brothers of ZBT believe that The Journey should be a fun and memorable experience. Accordingly, new members are never humiliated or forced out of their comfort zone during this education. The Journey program's workload is small and will never interfere with an individuals school work. Is ZBT a Jewish Fraternity?

ZBT was founded as a Zionist (Jewish) youth society in 1898 because Jewish men were not welcomed by most fraternities. However, in 1954 ZBT set the standard for all other national fraternities to follow by eliminating all impediments to membership based on religion, race and national origin. Given our roots, we now pride ourselves on be a fraternity that welcomes all men of quality while being proud of our heritage. A potential member will never be turned down because of his race, creed, color, national origin, or religion.

What kind of things do you do for social activities?

To deliver the most exciting and balanced college experience, ZBT hosts numerous social events each semester that range from our huge annual ZBTahiti Party to sorority date parties, football tailgates, and brotherhood camping trips. The executive board at ZBT strives to organize and host at least one social event every week during the semester. There is never a dull moment at the Beta Alpha Theta chapter house!

                                              Do you have scholarship opportunities?

Yes! ZBT national has both need based and acheivment based scholarships and they are fairly easy to attain. Many of the brothers who apply are awarded scholarships! Most scholarships are for one thousand dollars but can be as much as TWENTY THOUSAND DOLLARS!!! Additionally, our chapter has a dedicated Scholarship Chair who's job is to research and present scholarship opportunities to brothers at every weekly chapter meeting.
